October 10, 1929 – July 21, 2025
William Dillard Richardson of Saltillo, age 95, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 10, 1929, in Tishomingo County to William Franklin "Bill" Richardson and Nora Nancy Burcham Richardson. He graduated from Rienzi High School with honors of Valedictorian and received the Balfour Award. After high school he attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and received his associate's degree at Itawamba Community College. He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1989 from the Mississippi National Guard as a Staff Sargent. He was the proud owner of Richardson Printing and Office Supplies for 25 years. Later he went into real estate and appraisal work for another 20 years.
He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church and a long-time active member of Civitan Club in Tupelo. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and camping.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Richardson, Terry Richardson (Ginger), and Craig Richardson (Dori); foster daughter, Sandra Caldwell (Jimmy); stepson, Buddy Parham (Ginger); stepdaughters, Charlotte Faulkner and Stacy Forbus; 10 grandchildren, Kyle Richardson, Carli Richardson, Catherine Richardson, Brooke Marlar (Brad), Blake Fleming (Chris), Sadie Swinney (John), Ella Richardson, Drew Richardson (Amber), Will Richardson (Tara Beth), Maylie Richardson; two foster grandchildren, Tony Caldwell (Kim) and Candi Russell (Dana); seven step grandchildren, Collin Faulkner (Lee), Courtney Sartin (David), Matt Parham, Jenny Sullivan (Matthew), Rob Forbus (Caitlin), Wesley Boock (Caroline), and Addie Forbus; sisters, Reba Depoyster, Barbara McCalla, Retha Bain, Jeannette Aday (J.B.), Elaine Bailey, Margaret Vanstory (Tommy), and Liz Floyd; and brothers, Raybon Richardson (Maudie), Larry Richardson (Sandra) and Jimmy Harwood (Glenda).
He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years and the mother of his children, Oneida Richardson and his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Richardson; his parents; brothers, Edwin Richardson, Dwayne Richardson, and Billy Joe Richardson; sisters, Laverne Childs, Dean Henry, and Nancy King; great granddaughter, Rylee Marlar; foster grandchild, Eric Caldwell; and foster great grandchild, Connor Caldwell.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Drew Richardson and Bro. Raybon Richardson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be John Escalaro, Charlie Williamson, John Swinney, John Simmons, Kyle Richardson, Will Richardson, Drew Richardson, and Mike Harris.
