Obituary

Shannon--Virgin Spearmann, 89, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice after a brief illness. He was born in Saltillo on November 18, 1921, to James and Maudie Spearman. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran, serving as a tail gunner on a B 24. He was a longtime farmer and carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, raising crops and cattle, and spending time with his dog, Sam.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include his sister, Clytee Spearman Woods of Belden and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by hiss parents; one sister, Estelle Markham; six brothers, Oscar (Tump)
Spearman, Clovis Searman, Henry Spearman, earnest Spearman, R.Q. Spearman, and Cecil Spearman.

Pallbearers will be Frank McCarley, Thomas Reeves, Curtis Spearman, Patrick Spearman, Nathan Spearman and Sonny Spearman.
