Belden--Verlie Tune, 90, died Tuesday October 4, 2011 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. She was born in Savannah, Tenn on March 26, 1921, to John and Lizzie Smith. she was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a nurse's aide and a private sitter for many years for Hardin County and Park's Rest Nursing Homes. A creative and artistic person, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and tending her flowers.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include three daughters, Faye Boyette and Carlene Davis, both of Tupelo and Karen McGee (Jim) of Belden; two sons, Ray Tune (Nancy) of New Albany and Lane Tune of Tupelo; one son-in-law, Billy Putt of Tupelo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Anne Elizabethh Putt; one son-in-law, Henry Boyette; one grandson, Ricky Boyette; three sisters, Lottie Shook, Fleetie Faulkner and Hattie Sharp; three brothers, Millard, Ashley, and James Smith.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
