Tommy Lynn Davis was born unto Eugene and Doris Davis on August 26, 1957 in Chickasaw County Mississippi. The family later moved to Shannon where he finished his high school education, graduating from Shannon High School in 1976. He attended Itawamba Junior College on a football scholarship and later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he also had a modest college football career. He later returned home from Oklahoma and eventually retired from The Donald Smith Company in Shannon MS. He professed his life to Christ at an early age and joined St. John M.B. Church in Shannon where he remained a member until his death.
Tommy departed this life on September 14, 2015 at NMMC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Doris Davis, grandparents Charlie & Essie Bean, one sister, Bettye Davis, and two brothers, Rinnie Davis and Frankie Lee Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories two brothers Eugene Davis Jr.(Rosa), of Shannon, MS and Rickey Davis (Millicent) of Tupelo, MS, two sisters Barbara Davis Bruce & Effie Davis Robertson both of Shannon, MS. Additionally he leaves a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family members: Martha Dale Johnson, Peggy Causey, Javar Green, Shy Green, Noah Green, Andrew Green, Lane Johnson, and James Davis.
Services and burial will be held Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 12:00 at Lee Memorial Cemetery, 5257 Raymond Ave, Tupelo MS. Pallbearers are David Wilson, Winston Shannon, Robert Hogan, Kenneth Coleman, Roderick Johnson, and Brandon Johnson.
