HURRICANE - Terry "Bubba" Kitchen, 56, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at his home. He was born Dec. 11, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, to Farrell and Ruth Kitchen. He was a longtime truck driver, most recently for Ashley Furniture Industries, with the CB handle, Easy Money. An avid motorcyclist with Harleys as his favorite, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cross-country motorcycle rides, the outdoors, riding his four-wheeler in the country and spending time with his group of lifelong friends. He dearly loved all of his family with a special place in his heart for his grandson, Parker, and his dog, Jack.
Joint services for Terry and his brother, Dennis Kitchen, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Orchard with Rev. Jay Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sheila Kitchen of Hurricane; two daughters, Meri Kitchen of Saltillo and Cari Kitchen of the home; his mother, Ruth Kitchen of Tupelo; three sisters, Angela (James) Patterson of Tupelo, Rita Kitchen and friend, Lori Snyder, of Tupelo and Lisa (Terry) Rodgers of Sparks, Okla.; one brother, Michael (Doris) Kitchen; one sister-in-law, Becky Kitchen of Moriarty, N.M.; his grandson, Parker Hazel of Saltillo; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Farrell Kitchen, and his brother, Dennis Kitchen, who died just hours before him.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ewing, Rick Crone, Tommy Bickerstaff, Roger (Flash) Burke, Ron Watterson, Ron Gibson, Matt Long and Steve Estes.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of his father may be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
Visitation will be held at The Orchard from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday.
