Teddy G. Hendrix June 1, 1956 – July 21, 2026

Teddy G. Hendrix, 70, passed away on July 21, 2026, in Florence, Alabama.

Born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Teddy graduated from Tremper High School before attending barber school at MATC. He went on to spend 40 years in the car business, where he earned the nickname "Car King".

Teddy never met a stranger, and he never forgot a friend. He made everyone feel like family, with countless people referring to him simply as "Uncle Ted". He was a true local celebrity, known and loved by more people than anyone could count.

An avid and loyal sports fan, Teddy cheered on his beloved Packers, White Sox, Bucks, Wisconsin Badgers, Minnesota Gophers, and Mississippi State Bulldogs. He also never missed an opportunity to attend his children's or grandchildren's sporting events. He bought all the gear and wore it proudly, every single time.

He is survived by his wife, Tina M. Bruns-Hendrix; his sister, Susan Strachan; his children, Neil (Jennifer) Hiegert, Sarah (Jeremy) Walker, Maxwell (Alyson) Hendrix, Michelle Curtin and Kristy Borst; his grandchildren, Ethan, Josie, and Adalyn Hiegert, Scarlett Hendrix, Joel Schumacher and Molly Curtin, Samone, Kyah, Amellia, and Anthony Sauceda; his great-grandchildren, Meiomi Ayala and Lorenzo Sauceda; and many, many beloved nephews, nieces, and extended and honorary family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lum "Bo" Hendrix and Ruby Jewel Bullock; his brothers, Rayborn, Timothy, and Ricky Hendrix; and his grandson, Jack Walker. Teddy's obituary could fill pages - Harley Davidson motorcycles, lifelong buddies, late-night pizzas, bartending, a newfound love of golf, the old days of softball. There simply isn't enough room to tell it all.

Teddy called both Iuka, Mississippi, and Kenosha, Wisconsin home, and in keeping with that, his family will hold a celebration of life in each place:

Iuka, Mississippi — Sunday, July 26, 1:00–4:00 PM, Pickwick Pines Resort 

Kenosha, Wisconsin — Saturday, August 15, 2:00–6:00 PM, Italian American Club
