Obituary

TupeloStella Laney Wilbanks, 96, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Rosewood Residence after an extended illness. She was born March 14, 1919 in Monroe County, the daughter of Earl and Erin Viola Thompson Laney. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years. A lifelong member of the Methodist Church, she attended Bethlehem Methodist in New Albany. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and gardening.

A Memorial Service for the family will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Chapel Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by 2 grandsons, Steve Christian (Debbie) and Eddie Christian (Kathy) all of Endville; 4 great-grandchildren, Shonda Hicks, Adam Christian, Stefanie Johnson and Katie Mounce; and a great-great-grandson, Matt Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Lamb; sisters, Olena Peoples, Ruby Monaghgan and Annie Jones; brothers, E.A. "Bob" Laney, Flemon Laney, Ruble Laney, Crafton Laney, L.R. "Dick" Laney; a daughter, Doris Lamb Nunnelee and a son, Doyle E. Lamb.

Pallbearers will be Adam Christian, Matt Cooper, Andrew Johnson, Weston Mounce, and Kevin Hicks.
