Obituary

TupeloRuby Michelle "Shelle" Melton, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Starkville April 27, 1971, the daughter of Frank and Relda Castles. She grew up in Tupelo, graduating from Tupelo High School in 1989. She attended Itawamba Community College and Mississippi State University. A prolific writer, she worked in advertizing and marketing for Smith and Nephew, Lee County Courier and Prudential Real Estate. She served as the PTA vice president for Parkway Elementary School. She used her inspirational writing skills in many areas of life, particularly during her illness. She was an encouragement to others who were struggling with difficulties because she handled her own with such grace. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and daughter. People were drawn to her because of her warm and genuine personality.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at Lee Memorial Park. A true celebration of Shelle's life will be hosted by her family at a later date.
Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of ten years, Scott Melton of Tupelo; three children, Chandler Carson Melton, Dakota Scott Melton and Alexandria Zoe Melton, all of the home; her brothers and sister, Kenny Castles (Donna) and Darlene Castles all of Tupelo, and Robby Castles of Greenville, S.C.; her parents, Frank and Relda Castles of Saltillo; her Mother-in-law, Delayne Gilliam of Plantersville, her father-in-law, King "Buddy" Gilliam of Plantersville; her grandmother, Iris Castles of Starkville; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
