Sandra “Sandy” Kay Witt passed away on August 18, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. She is now peacefully resting and whole again. Sandy was born on November 29, 1950, to Melvin Witt and Allene Ryan Witt Young. She grew up in the Skyline community and graduated from Mooreville High School in 1968. Sandy lived in Dallas, Texas, where she worked in accounting for several years before returning to Memphis in 1988. She spent most of her adult life in Memphis and worked as the office manager at Bud Davis Cadillac until her retirement. Sandy was a devoted caregiver to her mother until her mother’s passing at the age of 90 in 2015. She took this responsibility very seriously and loved and missed her mother dearly.

Sandy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family. She is survived by her brother, Rick Witt (Anita); sister-in-law, Linda Witt, her stepsiblings; her nephews, Nick Witt, Chad Witt, Matt Witt (Michel), Geoff Witt, Ryan Witt (Leighanna) and Steven Witt (Jenna); her nieces, Stephanie Robertson (Todd) and Amanda May; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew; her aunt, Doris Ryan, and a very special cousin, Kitty Franks. Sandy was like a grandmother to some of them, and they brought great joy to her life.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Witt and Allene Young; her stepparents, Eunice Witt and Joe Young; and her brothers, Jim Witt and Bobby Witt. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, her caring heart, and her love of cooking. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A special thank-you goes to her dear friend, Patty Pierce, for all her help and support over the last three years.

Graveside services will be held at Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona, Mississippi, on August 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
