BeldenSandra Jean Meegel Tompkins, 73, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2017 at the Sunshine Health Care Center in Pontotoc. She was born April 7, 1943 in Memphis, TN. Sandra attended Memphis State University and worked as the director of payroll for the City of Memphis Hospital. After her retirement she enjoyed managing a gift shop in New Albany, The Calico Mushroom. Her family remembers Sandra as a vivacious person and a lover of people. She was an active member of West Main Church of Christ in Tupelo.

She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, John Tompkins of Belden; her 2 children, Andrea Leann Tompkins and Christopher Quint Tompkins, both of Tupelo; a brother, Jim Clowney (Sondra) of Oxford; 2 grandchildren, Bart Henry Tompkins and Crystal Dawn Tompkins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mrs. Robinson and her parents, Stella and Henry Clowney.

A private graveside service was held for the family at Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangement.
