Sally Faye Townsend, 86, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc. She was born in Kemper County on January 29, 1936 to Dan Teer and Dessie Young Teer. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Marlyn Townsend of Pontotoc; one daughter, Brenda Hoing (Terry); two sons, David Townsend (Debbie) and Kent Townsend (Beth); four grandchildren, Kevin Hoing (Daniell), Christina Carpenter, Jason Townsend, and John Townsend (Jess); and four great grandchildren, Katherine Carpenter, Madalyn Carpenter, Brooklyn Carpenter, and River Townsend.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Bro. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Hoing, Jason Townsend, John Townsend, Michael Stegall, Charles Petty, and Phil Cates.
