SaltilloRuby M. Hill, 82, was born Nov. 19, 1930 in Greenwood MS and died Monday, August 5, 2013 at home after succumbing to a lengthy illness. Ruby was a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Johnny Hill for 54 years, and a rock and unshakable foundation for her children, Linda and Bubba Bill.
Ruby worked in the garment industry for 25 years and then helped in the family business started by her husband in the 1960's. She became a homemaker in the mid 1970's and loved caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her pets which she cared for with great tenderness.
Ruby was a loving member of First Christian Church in Baldwyn. Her hobbies included keeping a spotless house, cooking for her family, caring for friends and family who were in need and she also loved fishing better than Bill Dance, and to tell the truth, she was better at it.
Services will be 2 pm Thursday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Ruby is survived by her children, Linda D. Hill of West Memphis, AR and John (Bubba) Hill of Baldwyn; seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Hill; her father, Wiley Miles Crick; her mother, Ruby Pyron Crick; three sisters, Lois Hill, Elnora Maine, Joyce McHaffey; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Rose Hill; and a great granddaughter, Montana Rose Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Lee Parker, Lee Brooks, Jake Martin, Jakob Roberts, Jeff Michaels, and Gerald Hill. Serving as honorary pallbearer is Blaine Martin.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
