Auburn - Mr. Roy C. Morgan, 89, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a Extended IllnessHe was born November 3, 1919 in Sledge MS to Fleet and Ada (Gregory) Morgan. He was a lifelong resident of Lee County. After serving in World War II, he Started Morgan refrigeration of which he operated until the mid 1960's before becoming a lifelong farmer and cattleman. He remained very active in the cattleman's Association and was an avid conversationalist on politics and history. He also loved spending time with his children and grand children.Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Priceville Baptist Church. with Bro. Devin Dutka officiating and Tim McMillan Assisting. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Priceville Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in Care of arrangements.Survivors include two sons, Roy Morgan, jr (Teresa) of Tupelo; Phil Morgan (Beverly) of Auburn. Two Daughters, Mary Rayburn (Bill) of Tupelo; Cathy Gamble of Tupelo. One brother, Gene Morgan of Eggville. One sister, Wilma Page of Skyline.Seven grandchildren, Marilyn Frierson (Clemon) of Verona; Jeannie Senter (Jay) of Shannon; Heather Giesken (Jay) Mooreville; Amanda Gamble of Tupelo; Tara Morgan of Auburn; Anna Morgan of Auburn andAlaina Gamble of Tupelo.Three Great Grandchildren, Austen Pannell, John Thomas Senter and Bryce Giesken.He was preceded in death by his parents; his true love and wife of 63 years Mrs. Jeannie Eloise Morgan. Four brothers, Quitman Morgan, Gurney Morgan, Alden Morgan and Olen Morgan.Three Sisters, Faye Wade, Ruby Garner and Elaine Mullinnix.Pallbearers will be Buddy Loyd, Andy Gregory, Jimmy Webb, Paul Reed, Scott Callahan and Jerry MorganVisitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lee Memorial funeral home.
