Obituary

DorseyRoy Clifton Brown, Jr., 60, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his residence in Mantachie. A longtime resident of the Lee County area, he was born in Humboldt, TN, the son of Roy C. "Joe" Brown and Margaret Thompson Brown. He worked for many years as a frame builder of Lane Furniture before he became disabled. He served for 7 years in the Mississippi National Guard. He was a member of West Mooreville Baptist Church. An avid sports fan, he served as the athletic deputy commissioner for the Wrestling Association and also enjoyed Ole Miss and Tennessee football as well as Atlanta Braves Baseball.

Services will be 2 pm Tuesday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Winters officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patti Brown of the Dorsey Community; 2 sons, Tim Brown (Kassandra) of Ripley and Chris Brown of the home; 2 sisters, Jennifer Grimes (Robert) of Humboldt, TN and Deborah Crowe of Alabama; a half-sister, Vivian Harris; his mother, Margaret Brown of Humboldt, TN; 6 grandchildren, Trey, Tyson, Noah, Sara-Elizabeth, Joseph, and Caleb; a special friend Ronnie Witcher of Mantachie; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Nancy Parker, and his father-in-law, James Smith.

His nephews will serve as pallbearers

Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home
