Romie Allen (Buddy) Tate, 83, passed away on October 20, 2014 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born January 15, 1931 in Shannon, Mississippi to Marcus Jerome Tate and Zora Lou Archibald. He was retired from CSX Corporation, formerly Texas Gas Transmission Corp.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wade Stewart Tate; one daughter, Amy Tate; two grandchildren, Sara Siler and Michael Siler; two great-grandchildren, Sara's son Tate Chalona and Michael's son James Siler.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Siler; four sisters, Marianna Tate, Emogene Robbins, Kathleen Schumpert, Jo Mae Pettey; and two brothers, Harold Tate and Hugh Tate.
A Memorial Service will be held locally at Sanctuary on The Square in Collierville, Tennessee at 2pm on October 26 with Rev. Earl David and Dr. Douglas Norfleet officiating.
Another Memorial Service will be held a week later at the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum at Lee Memorial Park in Verona, Mississippi at 2pm on Saturday, November 1 with Rev. Phillip Box officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Association and the American Heart Association.
