Roger Morgan, 81, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at his home. He was born February 8, 1937 in Oktibbeha County to Willie Von and Willie Velma Carpenter Morgan. He was a United States Army Combat Veteran of the Korean War and a 32 nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason member of Lodge #81. Beginning in the 1950's he worked as a long haul truck driver and in management in the trucking industry, with many other adventures along the way. After official retirement, he enjoyed driving touring entertainers for 27 more years. He enjoyed spending time with his entire family, riding motorcycles with friends, making people laugh with a story or a joke, and had one for almost every situation. He would do anything in his power for someone in need, as many can testify. He was a member of Morning View Baptist Church.
Services will be 12 PM Thursday at Morning View Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Burrows officiating. Burial with Military and Masonic Honors will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra Brand Morgan of Mooreville; his children, Lynn Morgan (Melody), Alane Vattiato (Joey) and Tammi Hillhouse all of Pontotoc, Byron Morgan (Jennifer) of Ecru, Brent Morgan of Mooreville and Stephen Ganaway of Fulton; six grandchildren, Wesley, Matt, Andrew, Daniel, Cole and Austin; four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Sawyer, Jed and Jase; a host of nieces and nephews who always looked forward to time with "Uncle Bud" and more friends and Carter had little pills.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Memorial may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 Wednesday and 11 – 12 Thursday all at the church.
