Robert Winter, 82, of Tupelo, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at his home in Tupelo. He was born November 2, 1941 to Leonard Winter and Nancy Kilburn Winter.  He was the former pastor of West Mooreville Baptist Church. He began preaching when he was 17 years old and he has loved his Lord Jesus ever since. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the 318 Masonic Lodge in Tupelo.

He is survived by three daughters, Regina Long (Hoyt) Delora Carruthers, and Donna Francis (Bruce); nine grandchildren, Brandon Long (Linda), Mindy Luna (Paul), Ashley Armstrong (Jon), Randy Kennedy, Anthony Kennedy (Shayla), Justin Francis, Miranda Garret (Jade), Josh Francis (Baleigh), and Marissa Francis; 18 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Marjorie Glass, Nancy Viall, and Jesse King; a special former granddaughter-in-law, Mallory Kitchens; two special nieces, Deb and Carley Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Winter of almost 62 years;  his parents and brother-in-law, Travis Bazzel; four brothers, Louis Winter, Leonard Winter, Sidney Winter, and Joe Winter; and two sisters, Annie Lou Askew and Lilly Prater.
Visitation will be Saturday May 18, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be at 3:00 pm Sunday May 19, 2024 in the chapel with Bro. Billy Myrick officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Long, Randy Kennedy, Justin Francis, Josh Francis, Jon Armstrong, and Jade Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Johnson, Vick Middlebrooks, Denis Greasy Carlock, Bob Howell, and Jammie Grisham.
