Obituary

PLANTERSVILLE - Robert ""Pop"" Mulligan, 75, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at The Meadows in Fulton. He was born December 3, 1939, in Memphis, Tenn. to Frank and Ollie Mulligan. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanic by trade and worked for several years at the Philips 66 in Plantersville. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed watching the History Channel and the Discovery Channel but mostly enjoyed watching old westerns. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include his children, Robert Mulligan, Jr. (Shelia) of Plantersville, Tara Hall (Mickey) and Kenny Mulligan (Tabitha), all of Memphis, Tenn., Steven Mulligan of Nashville, Tenn. and Doug Mulligan (Julie) of McMinnville, Tenn.; one step-son, Billy Ray Nelson (Lynn) of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Thomas Mulligan (Ellen) of Hernado; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Teresa Westmoreland; two grandsons, Shawn Jason Taylor and Jamie Westmoreland; one brother, Billy Mulligan; two sisters, Frances Smith and Ann Williams
