Robert D. "Bob" Munson, 85, died Saturday October 25, 2014, at Cedars Nursing Facility after an extended illness. He was born November 14, 1928, in Clay Center, KS to Elmer and Ethel Munson. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was retired from Daybright Industries. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Tupelo where he sang in the choir and served on the Guatemala mission team. Enjoying life to its fullest, he loved to travel and go to tractor pulls.
Services will be 11 am Wednesday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his son, Lloyd Munson (Virginia) of Southaven; two brothers, George Munson (Betsy) of California and Gene Munson (Mildred) of Maryland; 3 grandchildren, Robert D. Munson II (Valarie), Sean Munson and Brittney Munson; and one great-grandchild, Jaydon Munson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louisa Munson; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Bowen
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be 5-8 Tuesday.
