Aberdeen - Richard "Dick" Kosmar, 77, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born April 28, 1932 in McKees Rocks, PA to John and Anna Kosmar. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Marines and was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated from the Penn State University. He was an engineer with the Dravo Corporation for many years through which he traveled the world. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in which he served on the planning team, the Food Bank and the Parrish Board. He enjoyed helping other and working with kids during the summer camps.A Mass of Resurrection will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Tim Murphy, Father Vince Burns and Father Bob Dalton officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include his wife, Bessie Kosmar of Aberdeen; four children, Lesley Kosmar, Rick Kosmar, Jr., Kitty Gardner and Karla Bowman all of Pennsylvania; one step-daughter, Bobbie June Henderson of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Geri Kimble of Kennesaw, GA and Judi Kosmar of Sasume, FL; one brother, James Kosmar of NC; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Michael Kosmar.The Sanctuary Hospice House
