Obituary

Tupelo - Rheno S. Patterson, 76, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on June 18, 1933 to Johnny and Clara Patterson in Whitehall, AR. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years which included serving during the Korean War, four tours during the Vietnam War and numerous medal and accommodations. He worked for Tecumseh Products, Day Detectives and Action Industries. He enjoyed boxing, football, animals, spending time with his grandchildren and eating out with family and friends. He was a Baptist.Services will be 11 AM Thursday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Perry Griffin officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Lee Memorial Park.Survivors include his wife, Norma Patterson of Tupelo; one daughter, Debbie Westerman of Malvern, AR; two sons, Ronnie (Janey) Patterson of Hot Springs, AR and Larry (Sandy) Reich of Tupelo; two sisters, Dorothy Lambert of Manila, AR and Bessie (Ray) Holt of Rochelle, IL; one brother, Clyde (Binita) Patterson of Rochelle, IL; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Kathryn Rhodes, three brothers Robert Patterson, Edward Patterson and David Patterson and a son-in-law Paul Westerman.Pallbearers will be Terry Grantham, Brandon Williams, B.J. Williams, Richard Suddieth, Jim Jennings and Anthony Reich.Visitation will be 5 - 8 Wednesday.
