Ralph Hill
Mantachie - Ralph Hill, beloved husband of 58 years to wife, Ann, and loving father to Sherry, went home to be with the Lord. He departed from this earth on the 27th of August, 2012, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. He was the son of Cordie Lee and Iva Lee Hill. He fought a long and hard battle with diabetes, blindness and heart failure. His life struggles are finished and his spirit joined with God. Ralph served his country for 20 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1972. He operated his own heating and air business for 30 years, retiring in 2010 due to health issues. He enjoyed his business, loved his customers and was very proud to have his grandson, Chris, working alongside with him for 25 of those 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gearld Hill; and three sisters, Laura Jane Moonie, Doris Shirley, and Faye Spearman. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ann Hill; daughter, Sherry Lanphere; his son-in-law, Jon; cherished grandson, Chris McMillen (Bri); three great-grandchildren, Mason, Lillyan, and Brayden; his siblings, Sarah Turner and Fredi Meek; and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. You did not go alone, God called you home. He was of the Baptist faith and attended church at Center Star. He was a 32 degree Mason.
He will be laid to rest at 11 AM Thursday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Buddy Rushing officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to service time Thursday.
