Odeel Chapman
TupeloOdeel Mitcham Chapman, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Bernice, LA on June 6, 1917, the daughter of Zollie and Macy Mitcham. She lived in Louisiana and Arkansas before moving to Tupelo with her husband, Alvin Rue Chapman who preceded her in death on July 29, 2003. She taught school for a number of years, but spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family and being actively involved in her Church, Calvary Baptist Church.
Services will be 4 pm Monday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bob McCustion officiating. Entombment will be in the Lee Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Chrestman and husband, Jim, of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Angie Sigl and husband, Don, of Durham, NC, Steve Chrestman of Atlanta, GA, and Amy Smith and husband, Josh, of Saltillo; and three great- grandchildren, Ella Carrie Smith Reid Chapman Smith, and Sophie Arsema Sigl
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alvin Rue Chapman; her parents; and two brothers, Max Mitcham and her twin, Odele Mitcham.
Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 3 pm to service time at the funeral home.
