Tupelo--Oscar Brewster Gough, 82, died Monday, September 24. He was born June 25, 1930 in
Vimville, Mississippi to the late Sarah Brewster and Oscar Benton Gough. He graduated from Laurel High School and then joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Garmish, Germany.
Upon return he attended Southern Mississippi University and graduated in 1955. He then accepted a job with Lederle Laboratories in Tupelo. He later became involved in a furniture manufacturing business in 1967 and was considered a pioneer in the furniture business in Northeast Mississippi. He was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Tupelo. Also, he was an avid golfer and loved people!
Services will be at 6:00 pm. Friday, September 28 Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Verona, MS on with Dr. Rick Brooks officiating.
Survivors include his daughter Sherry Gaddy of Chrystal Springs; two sons, Bruce Gough, and wife Cindy of Anchorage, AK, and Phillip Gough and wife Julie of Tupelo; two grandsons, Cody and Justin Gaddy of Crystal Springs;and two granddaughters; Molly and Ally Gough of Tupelo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Richburg, Billy Hughes, Duck Holland, Gene Box,
Herb Denton and Judd Hambrick
Visitation will be from 4-6:00 pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
