Ann was born on November 28, 1947, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Thomas Lamar Heatherly and Nora Elizabeth (Cobb) Heatherly. A woman of grace, intellect, and deep artistic talent, Ann discovered a gift for the piano early in life, playing from childhood through college and performing public performances at Ole Miss and Jackson. Her sharp mind and meticulous eye led to a long, respected career as an accountant with Aircap Industries in Verona, from which she retired.

Ann shared a devoted, beautiful marriage with the love of her life, Robert Perry Coon, until his tragic passing in 2019. In the years following her loss, she relocated to Mooreville, building a peaceful "country getaway" where she rediscovered joy, laughter, and comfort alongside her dear, devoted friends Judy and Durell Lollar. Always at her side was her faithful and majestic Great Dane, Emma, who brought her steady companionship.

Known for her razor-sharp wit, Ann possessed a delightfully dry sense of humor and a gift for cutting sarcasm that could disarm a room and bring an instant smile to anyone. She had a true zest for life’s pastimes. Whether she was scouting treasures at weekend estate sales, admiring classic car shows, taking scenic road trips, working intricate puzzles, or settling in for an evening with Netflix and classical music, she brought genuine enthusiasm to everything she did. Above all, her heart belonged to her family, and she took immense pride in watching her legacy continue down through the generations.

A Memorial Service will be 11 AM Saturday at Lee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ricky Young officiating, Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10 - 11 Saturday.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Perry Coon; her parents, Thomas Lamar and Nora Elizabeth Heatherly; and her brother, Terry Lamar Heatherly.

Ann leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her daughter, Heather Dawn (Gann) Smith and husband Justin of Tupelo; her beloved grandchildren, Thomas J. Smith of Tupelo, and Nicholas Flynn Greener and wife Taylor (Justice) of Oxford; her precious great-granddaughter and namesake, Nora James Greener of Oxford; her dear sister, Dot Cantrell of Wren; her sister-in-law, Alice Heatherly; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
