Nell Abner

Palmetto - Eva Nell Abner, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 29, 1934, in Lafayette County to Dorris and Ruth Brummett Davis. She was a longtime and faithful member of Verona Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for L & W Cash Registers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed tending to her flowers and crocheting She and Charlie enjoyed camping together and was a member of the Good Sam's Club. She loved cooking especially for her family.

Services will be 2 PM Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Cox officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Smith of Union County and Dr. Sandy Stanton of Oxford; two sons, Jim Huckaby of Nettleton and Bubba Abner of Palmetto; one brother, Kenny Davis of Hamilton; two sisters, Jerri Lynn Eubank of Alligator and Barbara Pruitt of Tupelo; nine grandchildren, Hollye Abner, Morgan Knight, Amanda Susalla, Jamie Siddal, Lindsey Mitchell, Lana Stanton, Timmy Haynes, Terry Haynes and Meghan Grubbs; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 12:00 PM - 2 PM Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
