TupeloMoieze Lauderdale Nanney, 84, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Rosewood Residence after an extended illness. She was born May 9, 1931 in Prentiss County, the daughter of Donnie and Edna Stell Lauderdale. After her graduation from Marietta High School and Northeast Mississippi Junior College, she began her lifetime career at Bell South as a telephone operator. She was the widow of the late Bobby Nanney with whom she enjoyed many happy years of marriage. Moieze loved working in her garden and providing flowers for Auburn Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member.
Services will be 2 pm Monday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.
She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews, Ron Stennett, Don Stennett, Jimmy Wilburn, Tommy Wilburn, Patti Wilburn Herrington, Terry Ramey, Jeff Ramey, Regina Johnsey Ramey, Tracy Johnsey, Gary Johnsey, Chad Johnsey, Tammy Lauderdale Hall and Michelle Lauderdale Jones, who was also her caregiver; a sister-in-law, Linda Lauderdale; a brother-in-law, Nelson Wilburn; and a host of extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; 4 sisters, Virginia Stennett, Louise Wilburn, Evelyn Ramey, Nona Faye Johnsey; and 1 brother, Charles Lauderdale.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Tommy Wilburn, Jeff, Terry and Chris Ramey, and Jeff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be her past co-workers at Bell South.
