Okolona - Mildred Lucille Porter, 82, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Shearer-Richardson Memorial Nursing Home in Okolona. She was one of nineteen children born to Virgil and Liddie Elder. She was a member of Church of Acts in New Albany, but attended Faith Outreach Church in Okolona. She was the owner and operator of Mildred's Caf for over 37 years and served up to three generations of families her home-cooked food.

Services will be 2 PM Saturday at Faith Outreach Church with Bro. Jimmy Bryan and Bro. Charlie Ganey officiating. Burial will be in East Chickasaw Memorial Garden. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Porter of Amory and Diane Rappe (Jimmy) of Okolona; one son, George Porter, Jr. (Sandra) of Woodland; a daughter-in-law, Judy Henson of Okolona; five sisters, Mae Bell Minton of MI, Ano Wilson, Mary Jo Moss, Velma Ragan and Beulah Taylor all of TN; five grandchildren, Stephine Harrelson (James), Anthony Rea, Joseph Henson, Maggie Beth Porter and McKinsi Porter; two great-grandchildren, Gabby McWhirter and Elizabeth Harrelson; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Johnny Henson; a grandson, Johnny Henson, II; thirteen siblings.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Rea, Joseph Henson, John Goode, Larry Williams, Larry Butler, Jeff Helms, Bobby Carnathan and Bob Gregory. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Helms, Robbie Joe Carnathan, Bob Henson, Jerry Rogers, Sam Anderson, Robert Tallant, Dr. Bill Simpson, Jerry Hollaway, Jimmy Simmons, Preston Sullivan and all her family of longtime customers.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 Friday at Faith Outreach Church Fellowship Hall and 12:30 - service time Saturday at the Church.
