Michael "Mike" Eugene Dozier, 65, of Plantersville, Mississippi, passed peacefully into the care of God on the evening of May 11, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS, surrounded by the love of his children.
Born in Verona, Mississippi, Mike was the son of the late Elzie "Bill" Eugene Dozier and Mary Edith Mitchell Dozier. He graduated from Tupelo High School and earned an associate degree from Itawamba Junior College.
For 44 years, Mike worked in the Biomed Department at North Mississippi Medical Center, where he ensured that specialized medical equipment was always operating safely and ready when it mattered most. Known as a gifted fixer with capable hands and quiet determination, he approached every challenge—big or small—with patience and precision. Throughout his career, he traveled across the country for advanced training programs, continually expanding his knowledge and sharpening his skills in the field he loved. Colleagues often referred to him as having a lifelong case of "tinkeritis," a reflection of both his technical skill and natural curiosity.
He enjoyed time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but got just as much satisfaction from chasing down a good deal. Whether at an auction, flea market, or yard sale, Mike was always on the lookout for something useful, interesting, or just too good to pass up.
He was a family man at heart. He found joy in time with his children and grandchildren, showed his love through quiet acts of service, and never missed a chance to help. He believed in doing the right thing, treating people with respect, and living by steady, humble values. Cancer may have worn his body down, but it never dimmed his spirit.
Mike is survived by his children, Michael Dozier and Paula Aldridge (Reed); his grandchildren, Greyson Aldridge and Willow Kate Aldridge; his companion of many years, Lisa Thomas; and numerous extended family members and friends who will carry his legacy forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie "Bill" Eugene Dozier and Mary Edith Mitchell Dozier; his sister, Paula Jean Dozier; and other beloved family members who passed before him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Tupelo, MS, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm in the chapel. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Flowers are welcome; alternatively, memorial donations may be made in Mike's honor to Sanctuary Hospice House, whose care and compassion supported him and his family in his final days. More than anything, the family invites you to carry Mike's memory forward by spending time with those you love, being kind, and embracing the present moment. Don't wait for "tomorrow"—because this moment is all we truly have.
