Obituary

Olive Branch—Mary Frances Carter, 78, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.  She was born July 1, 1940 in Pope, MS the daughter of James and Dorothy Dees Crouch.  Mary was one who spent her life caring for others, both at home and at her job.  Her entire working career was spent as a surgical R.N. at BMH.  Mary's family lovingly remembers her as an excellent baker and all the sewing and crafting she did for her family and friends.  She loved making quilts, crocheting, and cross stitch embroidery.  She also enjoyed cooking for her family.

Services will be 2 PM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jesse Carter of Olive Branch; her children, Rodney Gardner (Donna) of Alexandria, AL and Tammi Labine of Southaven; 2 brothers, Jimmy Crouch (Barbara) of Memphis and Robert Crouch (Gayle) of Byhalia; 4 grandchildren, Gayden Sowell, Blake Gardner (Kinley), Karrie Bowman (Seth), and Savannah Gardner; and 5 great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Stirling, and Hawkins Sowell, Jackson Gardner, and Anna and Elijah Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Spencer; a brother, Phillip Crouch, and a sister, Dorothy Tull.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Breast Cancer Society.
