Mary Lou Beard
TupeloMary Lou Beard, 75, died Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born November 15, 1938 in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of Alvi Stanton and Mildred Trigina Haynes. Along with her husband, Elbert, she was the owner of a local restaurant, The Dinner Bell, in Algoma. After living in many areas of the country due to her husband's service in the U.S. Navy, they settled in Troy in 1972. She was a member of Troy Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her only grandson, Lee.
Services will be 2 pm Monday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Greg Herndon officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
She is survived by two sons, David Lee Beard of Tupelo and John Beard of Greenwood; her grandson, Lee Beard of Tupelo; seven siblings, Helen Seeley, Leo Haynes (Kathy), Richard Haynes (Janet), all of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Patricia Stahl (Jerry) of Claire, MI, Mike Haynes, Judy Schafer (Don), all of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Nancy Whitney (William) of St. Louis, MI; Nancy Stewart Beard of Tupelo; and Kenny Paschall of Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Elbert David Beard.
