SHANNON - Our beloved Mother and Granny left us for her heavenly home on January 23, 2010. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. Mother fought her cancer right up to the end but her body was too weak and she had to let go. Mother was born on October 30,1932 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi to James Shannon McCarver and Lessie Vivian Maxey McCarver. Mother spent her childhood in the Harmony and Cherry Creek communities. She graduated from Ecru High School in 1952. Mother and Daddy were married on August 9, 1952.Mother worked at Nonie's in Shannon for thirty some odd years where she met people from all walks of life. Through her life she formed friendships with people that until the end held a special place in her heart She loved spending time in the garden or down at Bubba's shop. She had to feed her chickens bread every morning when she had her breakfast (those were her kids too). She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
