Martha Lynn Hood, 81, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, peacefully at her home after an extended illness. She was born May 12, 1944, to Haskel Hood and Beatrice Montgomery Hood.
She is survived by five children, Valerie Thunderburk, Rhonda Rayburn, Jeff Rayburn, all of Tupelo, Tracy Justice of Mooreville, and Craig Justice of Mantachie. Nine grandchildren, Christy Irvin, Tony Willnow, Joshua Rayburn, Andrea Rayburn, Zachary Sithideth, Samantha Spencer, Michael Kyle, Meridan Spear, and Ashley Justice; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James Hood, J.R. Hood, Phillip Hood, Harrison Hood, and Jessie Hood; one sister, Virginia Hood Dickey; one grandson, Matt Willnow; three nieces, Lynn Parker Rushing, Angie Williams Riley, and Jessica Hood Marcy; and two sisters, Eva Dunn and Francis Williams.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Entombment will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
