Steens - Lorrie Godfrey, 48, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 31, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Jessie and Jean Tackett. She was a resident of Tupelo prior to moving to Steens 8 years ago. She attended First Pentecostal Church in Columbus. She adored her four grandchildren and enjoyed tending to her flowers, going to the park and the movies and spending time with her family.Services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery.Survivors include one daughter, Joanne Holcomb of Steens; her fianc, Tommy Logan of Steens; four grandchildren, Katelynn Blaylock, Gracie Blaylock, Breanna Blaylock and Elijah Blaylock all of Steens; her step-mother, Sonja Tackett of Mantachie; one brother, John Tackett of Indiana; one half sister, Mary Ann (Jimmy)Hall of Mantachie; one uncle, Lowery (June)Tackett of Skyline; one niece, Jennifer (Ralph)Dickie of Tupelo; two nephews, Brian (Kelly) Dafcik of Fulton and Jimmy Tackett of Indiana.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Tackett.Visitation will be 5 - 8 Tuesday.
