Obituary

TUPELO - Lorene R. Watson, 92, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at the V.A. Nursing Home in Oxford. She was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Catawba County, N.C. to Yancy Brown and Lunda Baker. She served overseas in the Army as a nurse in WWII. She was head nurse of pediatrics at North Mississippi Medical Center for 17 years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Cobb officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her four daughters, Patricia Ann Emerson of Pulaski, Tenn., Gail Willard (Jackie) of Etta, Betty Gene Adair (Neal) of Plano, Ill. and "Ginger" Mary Virginia Taylor of Etta; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; one brother; and six sisters.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
