Tupelo - Lillie Mae Lockridge, 84, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab after a lengthy illness. She was born December 10, 1925 to Ike and Linnie Bell Lockridge. She was a lifelong resident of Tupelo. She was a faithful member of Lane Chapel CME Church where she was a Missionary and Stewardess. She enjoyed cooking and cooked for the Tupelo Country Club for many years and catered to the community. She worked for numerous families for many years and opened her home to many people throughout the years. She was a family oriented person and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.Services will be 2 PM Thursday at Lane Chapel CME Church with Rev. Charles Penson and Dr. Cheryl Penson officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include her daughter, Pat Burton of Nashville, TN; one daughter-in-law Dorothy Lockridge of Tupelo; one brother, Willie Edwards of Coldwater; three sisters, Barcy Davis of California, Charles Etta Waters of Greenwood and Deloris Craig of South Carolina; three grandsons, Dietrich Lockridge of the home, Tracy Lockridge of Nashville, TN and Allery Lockridge of West Virginia; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her church family.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex Lockridge, Sr., her son Rex Lockridge, Jr., one daughter Susan Davidson, three sisters and three brothers.Visitation will be 12 PM - 2 PM Thursday at the church.
