Lillie Mae Bright
Shannon - Lillie Mae Bright, 100, died Thursday, March 08, 2012 at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab. She was born September 12, 1911 in Benton County to Robert E. and Tomzie Ann Norton Hardy and was the last survivor of fifteen children. She moved to Shannon after her marriage and remained there until she entered the nursing home. She worked at several manufacturing companies including Shannon Manufacturing, Delta Trousers and Plantersville Sportswear. After her retirement from public work, she baby sat for several years. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and playing bingo. She was also a master quilter.

Services will be 3 PM Friday, March 9, 2012 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Mrs. Margaret Hamilton will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Reynolds of Baldwyn and Martha Wood (Paul) of Plantersville; four grandchildren, Wanda Reynolds Homan (Tony) of Brewer, Phil Wood (Kimberly) of Southaven, Amy Wood Cochran (Phil) of Auburn and Donna Lucas (Dwain) of Aberdeen; eight great-grandchildren, Toby and Tyler Homan, Cole and Bentley Cochran, Archer and Jessi Wood and Derek and Daniel Lucas; one sister-in-law, Millie Hardy of Jackson, TN; several nieces and nephews; her very special friends, Dave, Margaret, Emily and Joey Hamilton of Shannon; a special caregiver Sally Morris and all her many other friends and caregivers at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard Bright; her son Billy Joe Bright; one grandchild Emily Bright; two sisters, Ella Poff and Eunice Burge; seven brothers, Joe, Luther, Ross, George, Wade, Elbert and Wilson Hardy, and five infant siblings.

Pallbearers will be Phil Wood, Archer Wood, Phil Cochran, Cole Cochran, Tony Homan and Toby Homan.

Memorials may be made to SouthernCare Hospice or to one's favorite charity.

Visitation will be 1 - 3 Friday.
