Evergreen - Mrs. Leraue Wood McDaniel, 84, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born April 12, 1925 to Martell and Dona Comer Wood. She was married over 62 years to J.C. McDaniel who preceded her in death on May 2, 2008. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a lifelong, active member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She was a kind, gentle person who unselfishly devoted her life to others while making her home a haven for her family.Services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Robbins and Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery.Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Young (Dr. Charles "Smokey") of Tupelo; one sister, Dorothy Thompson of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Blake Young of Alpharetta, Georgia and Elise Young of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Pat Hall (Durell) of Nettleton and Maxine Patterson (Dr. John) of Pontotoc; one brother-in-law, Eugene McDaniel (Joann) of Nettleton and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.Pallbearers will be Jim Hawkins, John Thompson, Durell Hall and Dr. Bert Duncan. Honorary Pallbearers are her special caregivers Estella Eastman and Carmen Rangel, the staff of Rosewood Residence where Mrs. McDaniel lived the past three years and a special niece, Lisa Hawkins.Visitation will be from noon to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the J.C.
