Mooreville- Lena Belle Sanderson Aldridge, 80 died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, Mississippi after an extended illness. A resident of Mooreville, she was a member of Andrews Chapel Methodist Church. She was born November 25, 1934 in Houston, Mississippi to the late Annie Mae Guinn Sanderson and James K. Vardaman (Boozie) Sanderson. She married Leon Aldridge of Okolona, Mississippi on December 21, 1957. She was a nursing assistant for 23 years and enjoyed serving others. She enjoyed reading, writing, gardening and going to ballgames with her husband. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends who were a blessing to her.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Washburn and Abe Zimmerman officiating. Entombment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survivors include five children, Sandra Wilson (Robert), Calvin Aldridge (Elyse), Lamar Aldridge (Monica), Lena Valerie Miranda Aldridge, Ramona Vaughan (Greg); brother, William Hurd Sanderson (Brenda), Martha Leona Sanderson Naron (Raymond); eight grandchildren, Nicole Childers (Brandon), Brittany Aldridge, Morgan Sohn (Josh), Ben Aldridge, Reagan Aldridge, Lauren Wilson, Katie Aldridge and Joe Aldridge; one great-grandchild, Jeremiah Sohn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years and brothers and sisters, Bob Guinn Sanderson (Ruby), David Hugh Sanderson (Betty), John Thorton Sanderson.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wilson, Greg Vaughan, Randy Pumphrey, Keith Sanderson, Andrew Aldridge, Boyd Aldridge, Danny Aldridge, and Gary Pumphrey.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Andrews Chapel Methodist Church in care of Rev. Abe Zimmerman, 725 Hwy 371, Mooreville, MS 38857.
