Hattiesburg - Mrs. Laverne Henley, 83, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. She was born January 15, 1926 in Lee County to Audie and Ellie McCollum Richards. She enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and spent many hours putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Park Haven Baptist Church in Laurel. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Garden of the Crucifixion in Lee Memorial Park with Bro. Sammy Raper officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Carol Henley of Laurel; two grandchildren, Jason Henley (Kelly) of Hattiesburg and Hilary Burroughs (Michael) of Laurel; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Piper Henley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Clifton Henley; her siblings, Marlin, Virginia and Audie, Jr.; and two sons, David Henley and infant son, James Edmond Henley.
