Mooreville - Larry Fair, 62, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at his home in Mooreville. He was born June 20, 1949, to Larry and Lillian Hamblin Fair. He was a 1967 graduate of Shannon High School and attended Itawamba Community College. He married Pamela Yielding on April 20, 1973. He was a faithful member of Auburn Baptist Church. He worked 26 years for State Farm Insurance, retiring in 2010. Larry was a quiet, gentle man. He loved his family and friends unconditionally, especially his three grandchildren, Maddie, Jakob, and Sydney and his special boys who also lovingly called him Papaw, Keegan, Kullen, and Kiptyn. Nothing brought him move joy than being their Papaw. Papaw could fix anything and make it all better. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting. He shared this love with his son and his grandchildren. Papaw truly always knew what was important. Larry battled cancer for nineteen months, never complaining and always knowing his Lord was by his side. He so rejoiced, witnessing his grandchildren accept Jesus into their hearts and be baptized. One of his dreams was to see his daughter graduate from nursing school. He beamed with pride and smiled that precious smile as he watched her recent graduation. The final testimony of his love came Friday after his death. A single red rose was delivered to his wife Pam by his request which he made to a friend only a few weeks ago.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Auburn Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Henry and Bro. Brian Crocker officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
