Tupelo - Kerion Russell, 94, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at The Meadows in Fulton. She was born in Union County on October 24, 1918 to Henry and Georgie Roberts. She was a longtime resident of the Macedonia Community until moving to Tupelo several years ago. She was a member of Tupelo Freewill Baptist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress working many years for Joyner - Fields, Hunter - Sadler and Blue Bell. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, watching Gospel Videos, especially the Gaither's, and watching church services on television. She was a sister and a friend to many people.
Services will be 11 AM Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her sister Wanda Gilmore (Bobby) of Tupelo; an aunt Tula Colvin of Florence, AL; a special cousin Nell Cobb of Fairfield community; a brother-in-law Bob Pegues of Pontotoc; a sister-in-law Hazel Roberts of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earnie L. Russell; one sister Faye Pegues; six brothers, Alvern Roberts, John Roberts, Gene Roberts, Grady Roberts, Claude Roberts and Charlie Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Greg Malone, Steve Malone, Zack Malone, Matt Malone, Jeffrey Phillips, Michael Phillips and Freddy Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tupelo Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be 5 - 7 Friday.
