Obituary

CORDOVA, Tenn. - Kenneth Taylor, 72, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at Methodist Germantown Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 21, 1939, in West Point to Wiley Wicks and Callie Elizabeth Taylor. He was a graduate of West Point High School and Mississippi State University and a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Fraternity. He was a longtime employee of Purnell's Pride and Hancock Fabrics, where he retired as a computer programmer. He was an active member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. He was a HAM radio operator with an amateur extra license. He loved the outdoors, photography and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Lee Memorial Park with Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kay Jackson Taylor of Cordova, Tenn.; one daughter, Kim Taylor Miller of Germantown, Tenn.; one son, Kirk Jackson Taylor of Memphis; one brother, Glenn Taylor (Mary Alice) of Point Clear, Ala.; four grandchildren, Brittany Elizabeth Taylor, Merrick Taylor Miller, Reese Elizabeth Miller and Sarah Grace Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Loyd Taylor and Gerald Taylor.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tupelo Amateur Radio Club.
