Katie Ruth Gordey, 72, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the North MS Medical Center. She was born October 23, 1952 to J.B. and Paulene Ridgeway.

She was a housewife and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hernando where she and Larry taught Sunday School. She was a very family oriented person and very attentive to their needs. She enjoyed playing Bunko and loved all animals.

Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM Friday in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Gordey of Columbus; one step-son, Jeffrey Gordey (Michelle) of Columbus; one brother, Billy Ridgeway of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, Josh Gordey, Jacob Gordey, Dylan Gordey and Daniel Gordey;

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, James E. Gardner and a half brother, Johnny Shaw.
