Verona - Kathleen Simmons, 57, died Sunday, January 08, 2012 at the North MS Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born January 13, 1954 in Lansing, MI to Gerrit and Shirley Sprong. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She enjoyed crafts and listening to Christian music.

Services were held at 11 AM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leon Willis officiating. Burial was in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Simmons of Verona; one son Jeremy Hix (Heather) of Ft. Lewis, WA; two step-children, Scott Simmons (Michelle) of Ashland City, TN and Carenza Tyree of Dowelltown, TN; one grandson, Drake Hix of Ft. Lewis, WA; two step-grandchildren, Caitlin Tyree and Peyton Tyree; her parents, Gerrit and Shirley Sprong of AZ; one sister, Susan Sprong of Vancouver, Canada; two brothers, Bill Sprong of CA and Don Sprong of TX.
