Shannon - Joyce Mevaline Allan, 78, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Darlington Oaks Hospice in Verona after a brief illness. She was born April 7, 1931 in the Pontocola community to James Samuel and Sallie Mae Copeland. She was a member of Verona Christian Church and was employed as a receptionist for a Veterinarian Hospital and a longtime employee of Burger King. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family.Graveside services will be 2 P.M. Thursday at Lee Memorial Park with Dr. Adron Horne officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include her husband, David Allan of Sturkie, SC; two daughters, Cynthia (Mark) Kilbourne of Shannon and Mevaline Allan of Jackson; three sisters, Mildred (William) Christian of Shannon, Mary J. Simpson of Tupelo and Elizabeth Lindley of Shannon; two brothers, James Hoyle (Dorothy) Copeland of Roswell, NM and Robert (Joy) Copeland of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Kilbourne, Elizabeth Kilbourne, Erin Kilbourne and Stephen Kilbourne; one great-grandchild, Jimmy Traylor III.She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Loretta Perry and a great-grandson, Deante Traylor.Pallbearers will be Clinton Hester, David Allan, Stephen Kilbourne, Matthew Kilbourne, David Long and Jeff Gilmore.Darlington Oaks Hospice
