TUPELO - Johnnie Franklin ""John"" Lee Jr., 71, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1943, in Shannon to Johnnie Lee Sr. and Estelle Stegall Lee. He was a longtime employee of Chickasaw Container and a member of Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching westerns and wrestling, listening to gospel music and going to yard sales.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee of Tupelo; his stepchildren, Jeff Henderson of Virginia, David Henderson and Rachael Henderson, both of Tupelo, and Ray Cantrell and Barbara Flurry, both of Gattman; his sister, Jean Humphries of Jasper, Ala.; two daughters-in-law, Denise Henderson of North Carolina and Angie Carroll of New Albany; his sisters-in-law, Jean Lowery of Jackson, Tenn., and Lorene Lee of West Point; his brothers-in-law, Ricky Galloway of Okolona and Robert McKay of Sulligent, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Thelma Lee; a sister, Eva Joyce Steele; two brothers, Robert Lee and O'Neal Lee; two nieces, Carolyn Valezquez and Marilyn Humphries.
Pallbearers will be Roger Humphries, Jimmy Humphries, Andy Lee, Benji Valezquez, David Henderson and Bobby Easterling.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today.
