TUPELO - Johnnie L. Jones, 84, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Itawamba County on June 4, 1926, to Ira Wheeler and Dee Hankins Sheffield. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church and an avid gardener. She was a real estate agent and a co-owner of the former Uniform Corner.
Services were Jan. 14 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors included three daughters, Sherry (John) Hodges of Tupelo, Brenda Jones of Birmingham, Ala., and Tammy (Mike) Falconnier of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Kathleen (Ellis) McCarley of Mantachie and Carron Sheffield of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren, Jack Hodges, Michael (Laura) Hodges, Vince Hodges, Jennifer Falkfino, Ashley Varick, Tiffany Falconnier, Madison Falconnier, Thomas Falconnier, Benjamin Falconnier and Samuel Falconnier; one great-grandchild, Bryce Hodges; three special caregivers, Jan Robbins, Eloise Barnes and Helen Gable.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph E. Jones; three sisters, Lois Cooper, Mary Sue Burleson and Eloise Shedd.
