Johnney Paul Wayne Tackett, 73, of Tupelo, passed away, January 1, 2021, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Ripley. He was born August 5, 1947 to Alton Jerome and Grace Agness Springer Tackett. He loved his family and dogs.  He was a long time collector of music, records, and model cars.

He is survived by one brother, Glen Tackett (Marianne) of Mooreville; one sister-in-law, Jackie Tackett; three nieces, Emily Tackett,  Beverly Guess, and Jennifer Dickey; and three nephews, Scottie Tackett (Kristy), Jason Tackett (Lynn), and Anthony Tackett (Dana)

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Tackett, his parents, brother, Joe Tackett; infant sister, Helen Gene Tackett; four aunts, Rene Bell Hester, Steller Black, Hazel Mansell, and Isler Justice; two uncles, Oscar Tackett and Sam Tackett, and two nephews, Mark Pannell and Jackie Wayne Tackett.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Dickey, Thaniel Tackett, Nick Tackett, Zane Tackett, Jason Tackett, and Brian Dafcik. Honorary pallbearers will be Portor Tackett, Ralph Dickey Jr., and Brian Dafcik Jr.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Monday, January 4, 2021 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Monday, January 4, 2021 Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Sharon Brown officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
