John L. Wooley, 72, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a lengthy illness.  He was born July 29, 1946 in Millington, TN, the son of Price and Fannie Austin Wooley.  John worked for over 30 years as a truck driver and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in New Albany.  He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed racing dirt drag trucks and spending time with his wife, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 PM Tuesday at the United Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Benefield and Bro. Jeremiah McMillen officiating.  Visitation will be 11 AM to service time.  Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.  Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

John leaves behind his wife, Patricia Sanford Wooley of New Albany; his children,  Charlotte Wray (Marty), Vince Wooley (Tina), Andy Taylor (Diane) and Jason Taylor (Jennifer); a sister, Laverne Gilliam; 3 brothers, Larry Wooley, Sidney Wright, and Ural Wright; 8 grandchildren, Scarlet Wray, Marty Brooke Wray, Anna Claire Cobb (Jonah), Lauran Wooley, Danielle Ashley (Alex), Matt Taylor, Austin Taylor (Tiffany), Brittany Taylor; and 4 great-grandchildren, Natalie Davis, Dylan Davis, Grady Brooke Robbins, and Kinsley Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lucille Cronin, and 5 brothers, James,

Pallbearers will be Austin Taylor, Sammy Carroll, Matt Taylor, Dean Carroll, Alex Ashley, Richard Roberts, and Marty Wray.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Dixon, Bo Hardin, and Malcom Hill.
